The following is a “script” for one of Matt’s forthcoming segments:
While the Chipotle incident may have scared some away and the demise of the Circle cinema may rob others of college-year memories, Cleveland Circle seems to be the latest Boston neighborhood to be on the rise. And right at the head of the charge is the funky new restaurant called Jade Monkey.
Designed by the team behind Beehive and Beat Brasserie, Jade Monkey features a swinging décor with a menu to match! The menu ranges from delicious dim sum, provocative pokes and wondrous wings to scallion pancakes and a chicken and waffle combo that is great day or night. The beverage list has “group therapy” drinks, red, white and sparkling wines (including Matt’s Meals’ fave Charles Smith), a sake menu, and a rotating set of drafts that includes the get-what-you-get surprise of the ”brown bag special”. Afternoons feature the Monkey’s famed DIY ramen bar. On Thursday nights, Iron Monkey competitions give the kitchen and bar teams the same ingredients and challenge them to craft the more creative concoction- the real winners being the guests who get to enjoy both for just $15.
So even if you have not swung by Cleveland Circle in a bit, the Jade Monkey is a great place to hang your tail for a bit.
